Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actress, singer, and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, as well as Hair. Her performance as Essie Carmahiel in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford spent the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed directors and actors across stage film and television and she continues that award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford is currently in the making of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to stream through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The production is directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which created Hamilton. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the country's First Impeachment Proceedings in Over a Century. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS hit comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and was raised in Denver.
